It doesn’t matter whether it’s business or pleasure…it’s all about connecting and engaging and a sense of community! It’s what we value the most! As we approach the last Saturday in July, keep this in mind.
Yes, it’s that time again! There is indeed a season and a time for everything! Instead of Eat, Pray, Love...this is Eat, Dance, Pay for Tickets!
It’s all happening down by the still waters at 4451 Masterson Road; Blaine, WA 98230 on Saturday July 31, 2010!
Here’s the general outline for the evening. Pay Pal button is at the end of this post!
5:00 p.m. – Arrive for beginning of potluck – Bring whatever food you like…it always seems to work out! We will be grilling some chicken.
5:30-5:45 p.m. – Roby’s cousin, Kyle Carlson, may join us again this year to play a few Beatles’ songs as potluck begins
6:00-6:30 p.m. – Marcia Kester – experience a little of Marcia during dinner and get your dancing shoes ready for later!
Marcia can be found singing and playing around Western Washington as a Solo Singer/Guitarist or with her band, A FEW GOOD MEN.Her voice tells the whole story: the heat, the honey and a bit of Delta hardscrabble. A savory vocal texture that falls somewhere between Patsy Cline and Bonnie Raitt and on towards the Shania Twain zone. Her arrangements add a modern flavor to classic songs… A taste of rock in the country tunes and a dash of country in the rock.
6:30-7;00 p.m. - BREAK – a chance to mingle and talk before two sets by Angie Foster. Angie says, “I’m a Portland-based, singer/songwriter/pianist. with a Sarah McLachlan meets Sara Bareilles vibe. Or so I’ve been told. (I know I should act cool, but wow, that comparison tickles the hell out of me!)”

Rylee Joy celebrates Mama Rob…and Mama Lu (Grandmother Marilu, my mother) and Aunt Becky (my sister)…both great mothers too!
Thank you Anna Jarvis, the mother of “Mother’s Day” for creating the first Mother’s Day in 1907.
Anna was only 12 years old when she first became inspired for what would become her life journey.
Her mother, Mrs Jarvis, said a class prayer in the presence of her daughter. To conclude the lesson on ‘Mothers of the Bible’, Mrs Jarvis said a small prayer,
“I hope that someone, sometime will found a memorial mothers day commemorating her for the matchless service she renders to humanity in every field of life. She is entitled to it.”
Young Anna never forgot that, and though never a mother herself, she proves that you don’t have to be one to honor one. She dedicated her life to fulfill her mother’s dream of the recognition of a day for honoring mothers.

Gadgets, Gizmos, the iPad & Line 2 with the Smart Phone Revolution
I have loved gadgets & gizmos since the first digital watch came out! Ok, I realize I am dating myself as a woman a certain age, but it was truly amazing at the time. Now you can have a watch with a video camera and media player at a price almost $100 less than I purchased that first digital watch! I just wonder what the gadgets & gizmos will be 50 years from now.
I remember purchasing my first little hand-held computer for inputting my addresses/phone numbers long before the iPhone & Blackberry hit the scene. Remember the pens that could record your voice for 20 seconds? You had to have your “to do” list concise for that! Now you can purchase pens that take video!
When I was a kid and we were taking vacations and had maps practically blocking any view from the back out the front window, I never imagined Zelda would be speaking directions to me on a journey criss-crossing America in 2005/06. Don’t know who Zelda is? Zelda was on the TV show Doby Gillis when I was growing up.
We named the voice on our GPS “Zelda,” and I am grateful that she guided us. Don’t know what we would have done without her. By the way, Zelda is now a California senator. Her name is Sheila James-Kuehl. We were supposed to be on her radio show when we were speaking in California back in 2006, but our schedules got crossed and we missed that opportunity.
The iPad is HOT! It can’t truly be classified as a gadget or a gizmo, but there is something intriguing about it that gives me the same type of feeling of “wanting it” that each of my gadgets and gizmos from the past gave me. If you are considering an iPad purchase and are interested in seeing how your blog or website would look on it, now is your opportunity! Just don’t purchase one and try to go to Israel. They’ve been banned there.
Ok…now to the latest and greatest. The Smart Phone Revolution is here, and it’s Line 2 for both the iphone and the Blackberry. The Droid? Well…sorry folks. You lost out here.

I say to people “I wake up every day and hope I hear ‘NO!’ “ People reply, “Are you nuts?” Well..perhaps. But..I say to them, “I know that if I am willing to hear ‘NO,’ I will reach my destination and hear ‘YES!’
My friend, Cathy Buchanan, sent me the link to this 3 minute video called Go For NO 3 minute video. Now, the way I figure it, people can’t really drag me around very easily and say, “Dotti…Tell folks what you say about ‘NO.’
I don’t reinvent the wheel. I look for wheels to upgrade my vehicle. I found it with a dynamic, three-minute video called “Go for No!” It is the ultimate strategy for failing your way to success! Yes is the destination, while “Go for NO” is the fuel for my vehicle.
This little video allows me to pursue my commitment to and passion for the United First Financial Money Merge Account system, setting people free from their debt prison. So…I have continued my long-life strategy and incorporated Andrea’s short video, leading me to ask everyone I see “Is your home paid for?” If they say “no” I know I can help them! Do you have my book?” I replied, “No…didn’t know you have one…just had a link to your video!” Anyway, she said, “Well, give me your address…I am mailing you one!” She did, and two days later I received a signed copy of her book.
Andrea recently called me and asked, “Will you do a 2 minute video for me for our documentary?” I said, “Sure…would love to do that for you.”

What’s so amazing is the diversity of both the individuals and the teams. In a face paced episode 6 tonight, we watched as our friend, Mel White, and his son, Mike, moved back into 2nd place. Where do I begin? The items speak for themselves. The largest gig IPod…Flip Video Camera (quite frankly, just about the cheapest and easier way to video & upload to YouTube!). Just click on these items, and learn more about the nitty gritty details!!
Note: I actually came back in and edited this after discovering the new IPod shuffle. As they say, it is “jaw-droppingly small.” Indeed it is…and yet at only half the size of the previously generation, it has 4 GB of storage and holds up to 1,000 songs! Here’s the clincher…well, let me just say that “it speak for itself.” Literally! The VoiceOver2 feature gives this Ipod shuffle a voice! With the press of a button, it tells you what song is playing and who’s performing it. I can even tell you the names of your playlists, giving you a new way to navigate your music. Now, that moves it to my “Favorites List!”
