How do I Add an rss feed to my Blog?
How do I add an rss feed to my Blog? Great question! Here’s 3 things you need to know.
- I like to choose easy-to-handle vehicles that run well and have a good set of wheels.
- I purchase new wheels if I later discover they’ll allow my vehicle to get better mileage.
- I grease any wheels with my own creativity (assisted by a helpful dose from my collaborative guru friends!) to achieve maximum efficiency.
You might be thinking “Why in the world is she talking about vehicles and wheels when I want to learn about how to add an rss feed to my blog?” Another great question…stay with me.
First, here’s more about #1…choosing easy-to-handle vehicles that run well and have a good set of wheels. Here it is…the best video I’ve found for easily explaining this process of adding rss feed to your blog. Short, sweet and creative…I like that! Just follow the directions.
It’s also the best short explanation of rss and how it helps you save time reading the web. google.com/reader is a Life Saver! Let me know if you agree/disagree!
Here’s more about #2… purchasing new wheels if I later discover they’ll allow my vehicle to get better mileage.
Ok…the truth is I didn’t have to “purchase” this, but I did have to CHANGE. That’s the point. My original post title was “Video on How RSS Helps YOU Save Time Reading the Web.”
My collaborative partner…Smart Chick Kathy Sammons...and I were talking this morning. She shared that my original rss blog post had inspired her to write one on the subject and then use some new tools about choosing blog titles with proper keywords to get organically ranked IMMEDIATELY on google! Whoa…now she had my attention! Bottom line is that I needed to make some changes. I came back to my original blog post, added some information and gave it a new title! You are experiencing the updated version (don’t you just love that “update” button inside your WordPress back office?). Kathy reminded me about checking my keywords with my wordtracker…that much I knew. What she taught me today relative to how to use the keyword search to then go to google search and gather info in order to choose the best blog title, however, is essential to your success and mine.
Here’s more about #3…greasing any wheels with my own creativity (assisted by a helpful dose from my collaborative guru friends!) to achieve maximum efficiency.
I put in the term rss feed at this wordtracker free keyword link. Stay with me during this critical process on how to do this. I discovered that “How Do I add an rss feed to my blog” is #42 in the keywords, with 30 people searching a day. I then went to google, and put “How Do I add an rss feed to my blog” (yes, in quotes) into the search.
Here’s a picture of the search results. Why am I showing you this? My original blog post about rss feed is not ranked! UGH! That’s why I am redoing my title and sharing this. I want those 30 people a day coming to my blog. Notice that the search results for this term (put it in quotes). It says, “Results 1-10 of about 401″ – pay attention to this. When your are taking the various terms you see in the wordtracker rankings after putting in a key word, you try different ones (putting them in quotes in the google search) until you find one where there are less than 50,000 competing sites (this is 401). If you find ones that have less than 10,000 completing sites, all the better! So…this is great!
Let me explain this in greater detail. If you look at the original wordtracker free keyword link for the term rss feed, you will notice that the #1 key word is listed as rss feed and that 1,805 people a day search for that. You might think, “Great!!!” But, wait. If you then take that term, put it in quotes and search it on google, look at the results.
The first page results say “Results 1-10 of about 318,000,000.” Do you really think you are going to be able to climb to the top of google rankings through that group of 318 Million people?
Here’s my take on it…I would rather have the potential for 30 people to visit my blog per day because of one blog post than have zero people out of 318 Million because they don’t know I exist because I am not on the first page of the google rankings!
Talk about carving out your niche! Are you with me? I will be back with a picture of the results. Let’s see how quickly this works! Today is April 21, 2010. Ok, now go get your rss feed, combine it with wordtracker and google search, and blog your way to the top! See ya there!
MY UPDATE!!! FOLKS…I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS! As soon as I updated the above, I was going through the actual post to once again make sure that all the links worked. Well…they certainly did, but the problem (ha!) is that when I clicked on the link I had at the beginning of the paragraph that accompanies the picture earlier showing you that my original post about rss wasn’t even ranked, guess what popped up??? (FYI…I removed that link since it no longer make sense in the context of that paragraph! This is the same link. The only difference is that it now show my post at the top! )
Take a look below. I am stunned! This is SECONDS after I updated and I am now at the TOP of the google rankings (listing my original blog post date of April 2 when it is now April 21, but with my new blog title). Watch out for Dotti Berry blogging now! Thank you, Smart Chick Kathy Sammons! (Folks…always take time to thank your collaborating guru friends…this is a T.E.A.M. effort.) Together Each Associate Matters. We are all associates to one another…and we don’t have to be in the same business to be on the same T.E.A.M.! And I would appreciate your clicking on my rss feed below…this cool rss feed shows my most recent 5 blog posts.
