What do Lady Gaga, iZigg, Business Card 2, Toktumi Line 2, and I have in common?

What do Lady Gaga, iZigg, Business Card 2, Toktumi Line 2, and I have in common?

Lady Gaga is in the news again.  And that’s news?  I know…Lady Gaga is always in the news!  She is truly a phenom! I love the way she steps out and supports the GLBT community (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender). Now, that is newsworthy coming from the person most covered in the news these days.

Back to why she is in the news as I write this.

#1 – Lady Gaga is the first artist to get ONE BILLION views on You Tube. Amazing, huh?

#2 – Lady Gaga had the audacity to pass Obama to be the first to reach 10 MILLION Facebook Fans (ahead of our president by about 700,000).  I say “audacity” because I am thinking, “Aren’t the Democrats supposed to work together?” :) Ok, I know I should not make assumptions.  I am making an assumption that she is a Democrat vs. being a Republican. I have never talked to Lady Gaga (you would think being gay would pay off since she is in favor of marriage equality!).  Forget all that….I have gotten off track.  The point is that all of this was the trending story on Mashable today! Get it?  Social Media POWER!

Just when I thought “What will Lady Gaga do next?” I got my answer. With her being BIG…not make that HUGE… in the news these days, it didn’t take long.  I was ordering a new cell phone after losing mine enroute home from Atlanta back home last week.  I still have an iphone on order.  I really hated losing my sim card.

Kyle, the gentleman on the line in Missouri, from whom I was ordering the phone, suddenly shouted, “Oh my goodness.” (or something like that!) Lady Gaga is the new spokeswoman for Virgin Mobile!

Honestly, I don’t know what to think now.

After researching, my question is, “Did she actually become the new spokeswoman for Virgin Mobile…and, if she is, when did it actually happen?” Surely an event of this magnitude would be newsworthy! Where did Kyle get his information.  Surely he must know since he is a Virgin Mobile rep. I suppose I will have to ask him when I call back today to tell him what color hard cover I want for my phone.  By the way, I chose the purple with black tiger strips.  Grrrrrr.

I am still confused.  In March, 2010, it was announced that Virgin Mobile would back her Monster Ball Concert Tour beginning June 28, 2010.  Those dates don’t equate to yesterday’s date of July 3 when I was ordering my phone from Kyle. The “scoop” on her website said…

In keeping with Lady Gaga’s flair for the theatrical, as well as her innovative and creative spirit, the second leg of the tour promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they experienced during the thrilling first leg of The Monster Ball.

It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” Lady Gaga said in a February interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.

Now, I’m lost.  All I want to know is:

Is she, or is she not, the new Virgin Mobile spokeswoman?

I believe Kyle owes me an explanation since he screamed this announcement in my ear while I was ordering my cell phone.

Forget the answer to that.  The “connecting and engaging” reason I am writing this blog post is to share with you what Lady Gaga, IZigg, Business Card 2, Toktumi Line 2, and I have in common. Here it is.

We all push the limits.  Lady Gaga? Well, you just read what it said on her website…and you read the other news. No more explanation needed.

iZigg.  Ok, maybe you haven’t heard of them. Watch out. It may not be in the realm of the news you currently understand today, but it will be in the future.

I challenge you to think of a company that defines the mobile media market.  No company dominates, much less is a household word like Ford became when they initially ignited the car industry.  There is no “AT & T, Sprint, or Verizon,” the companies who dominate cell phone service, currently dominating in the mobile media market.

This is going to change. It has changed.

iZigg fired the shots igniting the Mobile Media Revolution. Yes, I know. Mobile Media marketing campaigns have been around since 2003, but the general public lacks awareness.

iZigg’s entry into the field is a game changer.  This is more than a shift.  This is reaching a tipping point. Where do Business Card 2 and Toktumi Line 2 fit into this picture?

This short video explains the connections.  It pulls together the diverse strings of commonality on how Lady Gaga, iZigg, Business Card 2, Toktumi Line 2 and me each push the limits in who we are and/or our industry.

Ready, Aim, Fire!  The Global Revolution has begun. We are making a difference and creating a world where people are connecting and engaging, and nothing can stop us!  No government…nobody.  There is no “them” out there.  There is only the power in US…all of us working together to make our world a better place. Join 3 Smart Chicks at our Facebook Club iConnect & Engage.

Just remember that you heard it on Dotti Berry’s blog, not Mashable!

Here’s my video to Lady Gaga.  Perhaps she will view it and call me!

How do you connect through Social Media?

How do you engage though Social Media?  How do you relate through Social Media? Everywhere you look there is either a tweet, an article, a teleseminar, or a webinar about developing your Social Media presence...from Facebook to LinkedIn…from You Tube to Twitter.  Each one is a little different, but there is a common thread.

FeedburnerTwitterFacebookLinkedinYouTubeDigg

What does developing your Social Media presence really mean?

Here’s the CORE Essence of all of them.  The bottom line is that through utilizing engaging questions, each medium has the opportunity to lead to Collaboration & Fun!

  • Connect - Friend them or they friend you on FB, Follow them or they follow you (or both happen) on Twitter, Connect with them on LinkedIn and share your profile and vice versa.  Make a video, share a video, subscribe & follow their videos. Notice I said “Connect,” not “Pitch your product.” Very important to understand this basic concept.  It doesn’t mean you can’t post on YOUR wall what you are into regarding life or business.  After all, it is YOUR wall… but do not go to their wall or send them an initial message with your pitch.  This applies even when it is for the starving children in Africa or the people of Haiti.  Connect FIRST with no agenda other than to do precisely that…Connect!  If you do this, you will have enough friends to call upon when there is an opportunity to help others through a specific tragedy or non-profit, without relying upon pitching people you don’t even know.
  • Openly Engage – If you never go from connecting to engaging, you really aren’t actively engaging (there’s that word again) the value of social media (notice I don’t say “power” here…the “power” is in the value).  Ok, I am as guilty of this as anyone.  Although I have less than 1000 “friends” on FB, I am telling you I don’t have the time or energy to “engage” with that many! It is sort of like the reason I don’t choose to have affairs.  I barely have the time and energy to properly cultivate and nurture my relationship with Roby, the love of my life.  What makes me think I can distract myself with affairs and legitimately stay connected to my spouse? No moral judgment here.  Just the practical aspects.  Ok…I have gotten off track here a little (not much), but I think you get my point. People are out there scrambling…often to indiscriminately build their numbers as fast as they can so that they appear to be a “happening” chick or dude.  Why? Because some “guru” told them that is what they need to do.  Well…I am not claiming or aiming to be a guru (I’m a Diva, after all!), but I do consider myself a human being committed to connecting and engaging…a human being who had two things confirmed during our year-long journey criss-crossing America in 2005/06.I take the following from one of our pages on our website. Two basic human yearnings seem universal and were consistently reflected across the diverse spectrum of people we met throughout the country…no matter their sexual orientation, gender identity, political persuasion, socio-economic status, religious affiliation or lack of one.1) People want to live authentically…there is something inside each of us that yearns for that, because to experience authenticity with self and others means to be known at the core level and in turn to know others in a similar manner.  It allows you to live a life of MORE with more authentic connecting and more authentic engaging.2) People truly want to make a difference in our world – someway, somehow…and we search to find those connections which resonate with and impassion us.

There are many programs telling you how to build your list on autopilot.  Is that what you really want? I can supply those for you if you do (who am I to judge if that is the “right” or “wrong” way.)  Here’s my take on it. I agree that the more people you connect with, the greater is your opportunity to find the gold nugget of connection within those numbers, and the more likely you will be to engage with people with whom you are truly aligned.  Perhaps that is how I need to view those systems. If you only have 10 FB friends, you might think “This FB isn’t any good at all.  I don’t have anything in common with these people.”  Do we have another chicken or the egg theory happening here?  Comments, anyone? The real point to understand here, in my humble opinion, is that the “gold” is in the authentic engaging…it’s the value received from the give and take created by synergy with a person.  So…what do I suggest?  Use this phase like dating…throw your cap into the ring…shoot the ball (an ex-coach for women’s basketball at the University of Kentucky can’ t help herself from using these metaphors). What I know is that the more you shoot, the greater your chance of scoring, especially if you put the ball above the rim! Commit to this process of engaging and you will discover common ground with someone along the way.  That’s what you do in any off-line relationship.  You look for common ground during the engagement process (wow…is that why they call the phase before “marriage” an engagement?).  The bottom line is that this common ground will lead you to #3 – Relate

  • Relate – YES!  This is where you BUILD your Relationships.  It doesn’t happen overnight and the beginning moments are often filled with excitement.  Post excitement, you might stumble a little, have to regroup…perhaps even issue an “I’m apologize”… or even discover that this relationship is not empowering.  Cut it off! Don’t allow it to continue just because you “slept” with them. (this is a metaphor, folks!).  If the foundation of your relationship is not dysfunctional and contributes to you finishing an interaction saying to yourself, “Wow!  That felt great and I feel energized,” then keep it up.  Remember that you can feel energized even in the space of having difficult and challenging conversations. The building of your relationships is an interactive, dynamic and fun process…enjoy it!
  • Enthusiastically Leverage & Collaborate through Collective Intelligence – This is where the true value and power of this “Collective Intelligence” that I refer to as the new “Expert” begins to manifest.  Leveraging the relationship & collaborating together in a positive manner is Nirvana!  Here’s my bottom line.  4 eyes…4 ears (for Listening) and 2 mouths (for speaking, sharing ideas) is better than 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 mouth (me by myself).  16 eyes…16 ears, 4 mouths is better than the solo effort.  256 eyes, 256 ears, 16 mouths is better than MY solo effort.  Social Media is allowing the PhD person discovers there’s common ground with the person who never attended college…the person with 30 years of experience in an industry discovers that the everyday person has some answers and solutions for the questions in business that are plaguing their business…the single, divorced Mom with 5 children, in small town, USA discovers there’s common ground with the single, divorced Mom with 5 children in India.  You get the picture. All of these represent situations that in the past might never have happened.  Our new technology and the internet that supports this Social Media Revolution is AMAZING!I am a person who enjoys connecting, engaging, collaborating, and T.E.A.M.WORK (Together Each Associate Matters).  I am your associate in life, and you are my associate in life.  Yes, I choose to work from home.  That doesn’t mean that I choose to live a solo existence, unconnected to people and the world.  I  know that I am fed by connecting and engaging with others, and I appreciate every day the value of Social Media in that process. It leads me to ask,How can we shift and transform our world and make is a better place through utilizing this CORE essence of Social Media?
Ahhhhh…another QUESTION!  I hope that it provides food for thought.  I don’t have the answers (to anything in life), but I sure have lots of QUESTIONS.  I remind myself that the questions are what lead us into inquiry and conversations with one another.  The questions allow us to share our stories.  We began each newsletter on our year-long journey with this line, “You can’t hate someone whose story you know.” Questions lead to inquiry.  Inquiry  leads to shared stories, and feeling heard. Stories lead to connecting. Connecting leads to openly engaging. Engaging leads to building relationships. Relationships lead to positive leveraging and collaboration.  How much better does it get than that?

One of the best ways to tie all of this together is through a free tool, BusinessCard2, that you can get at Brand You First. This picture below illustrates the power of this amazing tool.  Experiencing BusinessCard2 is one of the best ways to understand it.  See my digital branding billboard below. Imagine updating one vehicle (BusinessCard2) that translate through all social media as you share your link or embed code on your blog or website.

Here’s a valuable update to this posta link to recorded webinar I did with Lief Larson, developer of BusinessCard2. This will help you understand what you “don’t know you don’t know” about branding, marketing and promoting YOU via the internet and global marketplace… and what it means to “operate in the cloud!”

You…and I…have a unique responsibility that is a gift.  And if we give the gift of connecting, openly engaging, relating and enthusiastically leveraging and collaborating through our collective intelligence  and talents, the gift of who we are will just keep on giving and we will have FUN together!

  • Never forget the powerful words made famous by Helen Keller, but first originated by Everett Hale.

    I am only one.
    But still I am ONE.
    I cannot do everything.
But still I can do something.

    I will not refuse to
do the something I can do.

Facebook Follow-UP…Are you Intriqued by this Explosive Growth?

If you missed my previous post about Facebook & the groups that are growing the fastest, here it is

In that post I cite this particular article and mention a particular demographic …

Now…I am just wondering if this demographic is getting online to connect because so many people are divorcing in America, particularly after 25-30 years of marriage. That would put this demographic smack in the middle of that age group.

Now, I don’t know whether there is any connection or not…I am just throwing it out there for consideration. There might not be one iota of cause and effect in this observation.  Anyone care to comment???

I have a .com domain reserved called Women A Certain Age that will address many issues that impact this demographic.

It’s not up yet…just in development.  Being one of those Women A Certain Age, I believe we have lots we can share with one another!

Robynne Sapp, a photographer, wants to do photography sessions with this demographic because she feels drawn to capturing their essence…their beauty. All 55+ Ladies contact Robynne Sapp at Robbi@Images4Impact.com and visit her website

Impact Images if you want to be involved in the project.

How about including targeted information on Finances + mind, body, spirit +Relationships?

Anyone else have an idea they want to promote with Women A Certain Age? Contact me!

I am glad to be a woman of a certain age.  It feels great.  My motto is “let loose” and with all my heart!

Another way to put it is “I Live life on the edge…and then leap…knowing that I will either FLY or find solid ground.”

It’s how I trust the process of Life and goes right along with my intention to live if fully unattached to a specific outcome.

The Facebook of Weight Loss…A “Loser” Social Media Site!

Normally, you don’t want to be on a “loser” social media website…meaning that there’s not much happening and it’s not worth your time.  But this is different.  This “loser” site will actually inspire you.  Why?  It is about “losing” weight, and creating and maintaining health and fitness.

So…if you are wanting a social network site that will support your optimum health and fitness endeavors, here’s the place to go…and it’s FREE. Check out MillionaireBody and connect with others.

You can also check out CNI Millionaire Body and watch a webinar.

Honestly, you can Cheat and Eat for Life as you create your Millionaire Body!

Here’s a video I did about experiencing “changes” in my life at the age of 55…I will turn 56 on September 8, and I am happy to say that I am now below my Body for Life weight (when I came in the Top 2000 of 200,000 in 2002!).  Yes, I am at 128, two pounds below my final Body for Life weight.

Here is my “before” pic when Roby and I did Body for Life in 2002 (was at 151 pounds).

bfl-before-photo

Here is our entry photo for Body for Life in 2002 when I was 130 pounds for my final entry pic.  Since that time I had stayed around 135 pounds. (I’m the blonde on the right).

bfl-entry-photo1

The problem was that I went through the change during the last year, and put on 10 pounds this past winter.  I was staring at 145 on the scales!  Yikes…how did that happen?  So, though I wasn’t as heavy when I first did Body for Life in 2002, I was approaching it!  Yep, that “before pic” from 2002 was looking more and more familiar. I have now lost 17 pounds…just cheating and eating, so am tipping the scales at 128…the lowest I have been since college (and I graduated in 1974)!

Watch my video…I was just beginning with CNI’s Core 4 products, and was looking for a solution to my “new dilemma.”

Menopause Women Unite! :)   Seriously, it works great for guys too…as women, we just have a little extra to deal with along the way!

This is the first time in my life that losing weight has been COMPLETELY STRESS FREE!  And I love it!

So…come on…Join Roby, me and others at MillionaireBody and let’s connect and lose together!
